Established in 1999, Eastern Innovation provides an innovative working environment and learning hub for business professionals to learn, and build growing, thriving, sustainable businesses.

Our purpose is to offer an environment and opportunities that enable entrepreneurs to further innovate and collaborate so that they can grow their businesses sustainably and successfully. We do this through nurturing the entrepreneurial spirit [AC1] and providing a creative and sustainable working space where businesses grow and thrive. [AC1]Programs Page moving forward
Our story began with the establishment of the Tom Morrissey Building (formerly the Monash Enterprise Centre or Monash Incubator) in 1999 which provided office space and business support services for local small businesses for more than 15 years. Over 700 businesses called the Incubator their business home in that time.
Fast forward to 2016, where the Jessie Tait Building was established to encourage more entrepreneurship is a modern, tech-focussed facility complete with labs onsite. It is home to a wonderful community of collaborative, inspired, innovative entrepreneurs preparing their ideas for market. The Jessie Tait Building suits businesses developing new products, designs or services for commercialisation and offers tenants outstanding opportunities to learn, exchange ideas and collaborate.
During that time, it was clear that our key point of difference was using a supportive business environment to nurture businesses that wanted to grow. Business growth and innovation in the City of Monash and surrounding municipalities has developed substantially and our city is now Victoria’s second largest employer outside of Melbourne’s CBD and has particular strength in in the health, education and manufacturing sectors.
